A mature garden in Surrey where one of the beds had become overrun with geraniums.

The starting point was a conversation with the owner to find out what they wanted. 

This is an area of the garden seen from both the house and the outdoor seating area so it had to connect with both and it had to look good all summer long as they do a lot of entertaining. 

The client was clear that they wanted a cottage garden feel to the area and they would like a range of foliage types and flowers in pinks, blues and purples. 

 I carried out a site survey to establish soil type, light levels and drainage and then made a plan with a planting list that contained all of the owners must have plants. A quick trip to the nursery and several days digging later we had the bones of the garden and by the middle of July the garden looked really established.
